Proclamation for World AIDS Day, December 1, 2003
In
January 1982, the first Ontarian and Canadian were confirmed to
have HIV/AIDS. The response from the community was immediate;
AIDS Service Organizations formed both formally and as groups
of concerned citizens, joining together to fight this new, unknown
and deadly disease. To learn more about the history of the movement,

In
1993, the Ontario AIDS Network was created as a province-wide
coalition of diverse community-based organizations working together
to establish a just and effective response to AIDS. To view a
list of our member agencies here.
On December 1, 2003 the Ontario AIDS Network
and its partner agencies in your community will be observing World
AIDS Day. We invite you to join together with us to proclaim World
AIDS Day in your community.
