Workshops & Events

With support from the Ontario AIDS Bureau, the Ontario AIDS Network offers the Skills Development Program; an important resource for professionaldevelopment in the HIV/AIDS sector.

The OAN holds seven 2-day workshops annually offered from October to June of each year, to OAN Members only.

The purpose of the program is to build capacity for the day-to-day running of AIDS Service Organizations and to support staff to better serve people infected, affected and at risk of HIV infection. By doing so, we will produce more productive, self-sufficient, professional, cohesive AIDS Service Organizations and Member Groups throughout Ontario.

Focus will also be on strengthening networks and developing resources and tools to promote best practices. These skills and resources will allow for a more productive fundraising program, volunteer services program, direct services to clients, and a more professional management and Board of Directors.

The Skills Development Program has been well received by the OAN Member Agencies for the skills-building and networking opportunities it provides. Over 270 people attend the workshops annually.

Other professionals, volunteers and interested participants can attend the workshops for a daily registration fee.
